Is Black America "On Code?" | Book Review
Despite centuries of progress, Black America still faces major challenges.
While we comprise almost 14% of the American population, we hold about 4% of all wealth. Comparatively speaking, White Americans are 65.3% of the population and hold 80% of all wealth.
Black children are disproportionately affected by Human Trafficking, especially young Black girls, who make up 40% of all victims.
According to an interview by the Urban Institute, Black children are targeted because traffickers believe that they will receive less jail time than if they targeted White Women.
Black children face higher risks of being in foster care and are twice as likely to be sexually abused within that system.
In addition, the majority of Black kids are born into single-parent households, which increases the risk of poverty, psychological challenges, and problems with law enforcement.
The prison and legal system alone has a long-standing history of innocently targeting Black people, which systematically puts Black communities at a disadvantage.
These are just a few examples of the inequalities plaguing Black America today.
While Black America seeks ways to fight injustice and secure reparations, it struggles to determine the best approach.
Author Dr. Neely Fuller attempts to solve this problem by offering a manual he believes any Black person can use to dismantle systematic racism.
His book, The United Compensatory Code/System/Concept, offers a step-by-step manual on how to combat White supremacy directly.
